The OmiseGO team cares about community relations, and we use many different platforms to stay in touch with the phenomenal people in our community.
Unfortunately, sometimes strangers and scammers make quite a bit of noise in our channels. This is disruptive to our reputation and unhealthy for our community.
For this reason, we have decided to move from Slack to Rocket Chat.
Why Rocket ?
- More security options
- More flexibility
- Open source: Git
This migration will encourage healthier, more active engagement between the OmiseGO team and our awesome community members.
The Rocket channel will go live on Friday, 17 November, 2017.
If you are already in the Slack community, an account with your username and email will be waiting for you on Rocket! Just follow the URL below, click the “Forgot your password” link on the login page and you will receive an email to set up a new password.
If you are not already a member of our Slack channel, just follow the link to “Register a New Account.”
Caution! The internet is still a scary place!
A few reminders when participating in Slack, Rocket or any other community platform:
- If you get a Slackbot or Direct Message from anyone (even if they have “admin” in their name) regarding the Pre-Sale or Token Sale, please *IGNORE* it. Token sale and airdrop have both ended. Our actual admins will never send DMs with promotions or announcements.
- Do not click on any myetherwallet link you get through DM or Slackbot. It’s a scam.
- Please ignore any Slackbot or other posts asking you for your private keys. No one affiliated with OmiseGO would ever ask for this information. Just don’t give your private keys to anyone, ever.
- Be very cautious when following any link posted in the channel or sent through DM. When in doubt, don’t click.
