Minor International Pcl
Burger King Thailand
Minor International Pcl, one of the largest hospitality, restaurant and lifestyle companies in the Asia-Pacific region continues to be an industry leader in technology and innovation by bringing cutting edge blockchain technology to production and front-end interface for user experience.
In December 2018, Burger King Thailand (Minor International Pcl) launched their eWallet, using the OmiseGO eWallet Suite. The OmiseGO eWallet Suite provides the back-end for Minor Group’s Food and Beverage (F&B) loyalty program. The program is designed to increase customer retention and spending. Customers are able to accrue loyalty points through their online or offline purchases using Burger King’s existing mobile application. Loyalty points can be used to claim rewards.
Shinhan Financial Group
Shinhancard, an affiliate of Shinhan Financial Group, one of South Korea’s largest credit and card issuer, and global top-5 credit card issuer, expressed their intention to develop a cross border, loyalty point program. The aim was to expand the acceptance of Shinhancard’s loyalty program to international markets and enable borderless interoperability.
Leveraging OmiseGO’s expertise in finance technology and blockchain, Shinhancard and OmiseGO worked together to develop a proof-of-concept (POC) of a cross border, loyalty point program.
The demonstration is based on a transaction of digital assets that represent Shinhancard’s reward point. The demonstration was built on top of OmiseGO’s ‘enterprise interface’ tool that allows an enterprise developer or any technical team to quickly grasp the concept of Plasma (scaling solution) and make direct, fast transactions through a web interface. It is built with extensibility in mind, so developers can understand and bootstrap their own POC and easily validate business use cases with Plasma.
Shinhancard’s reward points can be used with any online and offline merchant in Korea. If card holders of Shinhancard purchase products in the company's payment app, called ShinhanPay FAN (Finance and Network), users can earn extra benefits from partner companies of Shinhancard.
Hoard Exchange is a video game company with a goal to enable gamers to have true ownership of video game items. Their aim is to provide a global marketplace (Hoard Exchange) that allows users to freely buy, rent, sell or trade gaming assets with one another.
To do so, they needed a reliable and decentralized infrastructure for the backend of the video game, Plasma Dog; an infrastructure that would enable transactions within a game's ecosystem and allow assets to interoperate with systems in the real world.
With these requirements, they chose to build on the OmiseGO Network. Plasma Dog is Hoard's first live proof-of-concept utilizing Plasma MVP and it demonstrates the robustness of the OmiseGO Network.
In February 2019, Hoard built and released an updated version of their Plasma Dog game on our alpha network. In the first 24 hours, 28.5k transactions were performed and the network received over 1 million API requests.
